激しい雨の日。 私は海へとつづく一本の坂道をそれて、路地へと入っていく。 いつからあるのかわからない空き地の塀、 その昔はモダンだったであろう装飾過剰な門や窓、 生えたままの雑草。 細い血管のような路を、登ったり下りたりするうちに、 私はどこを歩いているのかわからなくなってしまう。 ここは双花町。 架空の町。 私は一篇の詩を歩いている。 目のフチをひとりの少女が横切った気がして、あわててカメラを構える。 私は少女の後を追い、絶壁に立つ古いアパートのなかへと入っていく。 暗い廊下は静かだ。 そっと踏み入れると、私の足音と、不整脈のような時計の音が聴こえる。 雨は、止みそうにない。 The rain is teeming down. Veering off the single road that descends to the sea, I find myself in the back streets. Alongside walls surrounding empty houses abandoned long ago, with their overly-decorative entrances and windows – perhaps once considered as ‘modern‘ – and their weed-filled gardens. Up and down narrow lanes, like veins through the landscape; before I know it, I am unsure of just where I am. I am in Soukacho. A town that does not actually exist.　　 Walking in the verse of a poem. From the corner of my eye, I glimpse a young girl. I hurriedly raise my camera. I follow her inside an old apartment block that sits high on the edge of a cliff. The darkened hallway is filled with silence. As I gently enter, my footsteps sound like the irregular ticking of an old clock. The rain doesn‘t seem to be letting up.
